Mother's Day/ Mothering Day
Mother's Day is traditionally a celebration to observe and celebrate mums, grandmothers, stepmothers with flowers, breakfast in bed, gifts and cards. It is a way of celebrating motherhood, maternal nature and influence in the society. It is celebrated on various days in different part of the world.
Mothers are inestimable jewels, angels sent from heaven to bless the earth. Mothers go through a lot to sustain the world. A mum passes through 9 months of pregnancy, labour pangs and pain. Also raising a child can be so challenging; still mothers stand firm and ensure that children get the best in life. Mothers have an endless list of job description which qualifies them for any profession.
A mother watches over her children, nourish and protect them.
Every woman is a mother, wheter they have children or not, God has deposited mothering qualities in every woman honestly. God in his infinite mercy will bless every woman looking unto Him for the fruit of the womb.
K. Nelson Davis says ''A mother possesses incredible wisdom and wonderful insight and skill. In each human heart is that one special corner which only a mother can fill''.Happy mother's day!!!!

Professor Niyi Osundare@ 70
Professor Niyi Osundare is 70 years today! A great icon and prolific poet.Professor Niyi Osundare was born in 1947 in Ikere Ekiti,Ekiti State, Nigeria. He is a dramatist and critic.
He gained degrees at the University of Ibadan and University of Leeds. He is a professor of English and taught in several universities.
The first time I heard of Professor Niyi Osundare was in 1993 during my college days at SACOED Oyo.I read one of his poems titled 'The Eye of the Earth'.This is a poem about the reality and connection between individuals and their environment. Whenever we read this poem, I usually experienced a nostalgic feeling.I then had the opportunity of being taught by this great legend when I furthered my education at the Premier university, he taught me Stylistics.Infact I felt on top of the world.I even have his autograph on my then English note till date.
Professor Niyi Osundare,I wish you a happy birthday Sir. May you live to celebrate many successful years!

Pastor E. A Adebayo @75
Born on March 2, 1942 in Ifewara, Osun State, located in the South-Western part of [[Nigeria]], Pastor Adeboye had a strong desire to attend school in spite of his poor background. He was admitted to Ilesha Grammar School, Osun State, Nigeria in 1956. Young Adeboye had an aptitude for science, particularly mathematics, which he chose to pursue at the university level. He was admitted to a leading Nigerian university, The University of Nigeria, Nsukka, to study mathematics. He was there a while but had to move to the University of Ibadan, Nigeria to continue his education, due to the ongoing [[Nigerian civil war]] at the time. He obtained his [[B.Sc.]] in Mathematics from the university of Ibadan between 1964-1967 and subsequently got his [[PhD]] in applied mathematics from the [[University of Lagos]] where he worked as a lecturer in mathematics at the universities of After joining the RCCG in 1973, he began working to translate the sermons of its founder and then Pastor, Rev. Josiah Olufemi Akindayomi, from Yoruba language into English.
In 1981, pastor Adeboye was appointed General Overseer of the church, taking over from Papa Akindayomi, who had died the previous year. For three years he filled the role part-time, still lecturing at Ilorin, until giving up his university position to preach full-time.
The church, which was not well known prior to Pastor Adeboye becoming the General Overseer, currently has several branches globally in about 192 nations (as at August 2016) including more than 14,000 in Nigeria. Pastor Adeboye has stated that his aim is to put a church within five minutes of every person on Earth.
He is the national president of RCF (an interdenominational fellowship in all the campuses in Nigeria) which is under the umbrella of Christ the Redeemer's Ministry (CRM) where he is a founder and president.
Daddy G.O celebrates his 75th birthday today.
