Governor Ajimobi Congratulates Olubadan of Ibadanland
Ajimobi To Olubadan At 89: Your Birthday Coincides With The Boost In Ibadan Royalty
Governor Abiola Ajimobi has congratulated the Olubadan of Ibadanland as he clocks 89, saying that “it was by divine arrangement and not sheer coincidence that Olubadan’s birthday was coming at a period Ibadanland was witnessing a major transformation and boost in royalty, which, he said, was poised to enhance the status of the ancient city.”
This is just as he prayed for renewed strength and continued peaceful reign for the monarch.
A statement by the Special Adviser, Communication and Strategy to the governor, Mr. Yomi Layinka, quoted the governor as having congratulated the monarch and the entire people of Ibadanland on the momentous occasion.
As the monarch inches very close to assuming the nonagenarian status, the governor prayed that the Almighty should continue to strengthen him and imbue him with greater wisdom and knowledge for the benefit of the people of Ibadanland.
Ajimobi said, “Kabiyesi, on behalf of the good people of Oyo State I rejoice with you on the occasion of your birthday, which provide another opportunity for me to thank the Almighty for preserving your
life and for renewing your vigour.
“I pray for a renewed strength for you and may God continue to preserve your life to witness more years and peaceful reign in Ibadanland. During your time, may Ibadan continue to witness rapid progress and development.
“As we savour this occasion, I call on the entire citizens of Ibadanland, members of the Olubadan-in-Council and friends of our dear state at home and in the Diaspora to join me in clinking of glasses to celebrate our dear father’s 89th birthday.”
The governor prayed that the Olubadan will live long enough to join the league of centenarians, just like his immediate predecessor, late Oba Samuel Odulana, so that the people of the state would continue to draw from his fountain of knowledge.

MY LIGHT HAS COME
Topic:My Light Has Come
Bible Text: Isaiah 60:1
Light is the opposite of darkness; it means illumination .Darkness cannot stand light, it must vanish because light exposes darkness. Isaiah 58:1.A child of God is definitely entitled to shine and enjoy the benefit of this light. There are some obstacles to absorbing divine light, these are:
-Unforgiveness: this includes keeping malice and grudges against others.Unforgiveness is like a poison eating up someone. Bitterness can kill ,its a disease. We might be our own enemy if we are not careful in terms of unforgiveness.
-Pride: In order to acquire this light, we need to humble ourselves. The proud cannot experience light.
Psalm119:21
-Lying spirit: All liars shall perish. Anyone who is dishonest ,no matter how little the lie may be cannot be a carrier of God's divine light. We need to ensure that the truth is our watchword word.
- Adultery and Fornication: Conjugal immorality withdraws the light of God. Illicit sexual exploits in marriage will definitely lead to constant darkness.
Jeremiah13:27, Ezekiel 16:32, 1 Corinthians 6:18-19
In conclusion, as a child of God there is the need for genuine salvation, after which our lives will experience this light .
May God grant us the grace to shine!

THE TOOLS OF GREATNESS
Our God is great, therefore we are candidates of greatness. To be great in life means to become outstanding, notable, distinguished .The tools to greatness are the resources we need to become great in life. There are many tools needed, these include:
-Your skill or talents: These are the gifts God has deposited in you .These can be in different forms such as natural gifts and talents, these could be inherited from parents as well.
Some skills come to you as a result of your education. This skill involves training and experience through the learning process.
-Supernatural Gifts: This is God's imparted gift to you. Utilization of such gifts opens doors to greatness.
-Your Uniqueness: This is a tool to make you great in life. Each individual is unique and special, we are the original copy of ourselves ,therefore we have to show forth our originality ,we are not a duplicate!
Psalm 139:14,we are wonderfully made and fearfully made and marvellous we are. Our uniqueness is great assets to greatness
-Association with friends: Proverbs 27:17 To be great in life, our friends matter. Bad friends brings bad behaviour, for you to breakthrough there is one person we need to link us ,just one recommendation. Choose your friends wisely, a friend can make or mar you. No man is an island.
Do not make friends that will not add to your life, friends that slander and gossip should be totally avoided. May God grant us discerning spirit.
May God make us great in life in Jesus name. Shalom xx

Doing The King's Business
The King's Business:
Who is the King? The King is our father in heaven who has created us to fulfil His purpose on earth. Before we were formed in our mother's belly He has known us, definitely He created us for a purpose. That purpose must be fulfilled, He does not embark on a business that He will not complete. Our God does not sleep nor slumber, therefore we should be proud to do His work faithfully.
Part of the King's business is prayer,we need to pray as children of God, not only for ourselves but for the nation and the world as a whole. At a time like this we need prayers of peace and love all over the world.
Also showing love and care to others is another way of doing the King's business, 'follow peace with all men' 'Have a good relationship with everyone around you, little love can bring smile on someone's face.
In fulfilling this, we need God's wisdom and grace, I pray that God will grant us grace to do the King's business in Jesus name.
Shalom.

ANTHONY OLUWAFEMI JOSHUA BECOMES WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPION
ANTHONY OLUWAFEMI OLASENI JOSHUA
![]() |
Anthony Joshua and mum,Yeta Odusanya |
Anthony Oluwafemi Joshua is currently the unified heavyweight world champion. He is now one of Britain's most successful sportsmen. When I read this young man's story, I observed that we have a lot to learn from his story ,especially African parents. A time has come for parents to start supporting children through their respective skills and talent.
Though we need to ensure they are educated, agreed but alongside ,let us encourage and motivate them in whatever talents they show up with. African parents are fond of focusing on professional career , ' you will be a lawyer, engineer, doctor ,accountant, etc.' I am also guilty of this oo.
Anthony Joshua started as a footballer and athlete during his teenage years, according to him ,he had a rough time as a teenager, but with the support of his family, especially his mum, he was able to breakthrough.
The love he has for his mum is immeasurable, up till date he stays with his mum,Yetta Odusanya.
Yetta Odusanya says'' Joshua has always being a quiet boy even today I see him as being gentle''.
Another noble quality in this young man is humility. Despite all the fame, he never forgot his root .
'I still eat eba, pounded yam and egusi soup' he says in one of his interviews.
Congratulations Anthony Joshua! We are really proud of you .xx

Mother's Day/ Mothering Day
Mother's Day is traditionally a celebration to observe and celebrate mums, grandmothers, stepmothers with flowers, breakfast in bed, gifts and cards. It is a way of celebrating motherhood, maternal nature and influence in the society. It is celebrated on various days in different part of the world.
Mothers are inestimable jewels, angels sent from heaven to bless the earth. Mothers go through a lot to sustain the world. A mum passes through 9 months of pregnancy, labour pangs and pain. Also raising a child can be so challenging; still mothers stand firm and ensure that children get the best in life. Mothers have an endless list of job description which qualifies them for any profession.
A mother watches over her children, nourish and protect them.
Every woman is a mother, wheter they have children or not, God has deposited mothering qualities in every woman honestly. God in his infinite mercy will bless every woman looking unto Him for the fruit of the womb.
K. Nelson Davis says ''A mother possesses incredible wisdom and wonderful insight and skill. In each human heart is that one special corner which only a mother can fill''.Happy mother's day!!!!

Pastor E. A Adebayo @75
Born on March 2, 1942 in Ifewara, Osun State, located in the South-Western part of [[Nigeria]], Pastor Adeboye had a strong desire to attend school in spite of his poor background. He was admitted to Ilesha Grammar School, Osun State, Nigeria in 1956. Young Adeboye had an aptitude for science, particularly mathematics, which he chose to pursue at the university level. He was admitted to a leading Nigerian university, The University of Nigeria, Nsukka, to study mathematics. He was there a while but had to move to the University of Ibadan, Nigeria to continue his education, due to the ongoing [[Nigerian civil war]] at the time. He obtained his [[B.Sc.]] in Mathematics from the university of Ibadan between 1964-1967 and subsequently got his [[PhD]] in applied mathematics from the [[University of Lagos]] where he worked as a lecturer in mathematics at the universities of After joining the RCCG in 1973, he began working to translate the sermons of its founder and then Pastor, Rev. The magic of make-up by Jane Cohen
Make up has the magical power to transform and elevate the body, mind and spirit. Looking and feeling good is priceless, and something that women all over the world have pursued throughout the ages, often at great cost.
The history of makeup began in Ancient Egypt, around 4,000 BC. It was thought that eye makeup could ward off evil spirits, and emphasising the eyes became very important - which is why we see eyeliner painted onto the art and sculptures of the time. Moving along through history, makeup was worn to denote social standing, with the Renaissance women prepared to risk their lives by wearing dangerous concoctions of cosmetics containing white lead and arsenic, to whiten their skin. Some women even went as far as blood-letting, to achieve the ghostly pale look! White skin was a status symbol for the upper classes - it showed that they were wealthy enough to relax indoors, as opposed to the lower classes who were forced to work outside, which darkened their skin.
Moving into the 20th Century, the rise of the movie industry in Hollywood was a huge influence in the popularity of makeup. With the help of Max Factor, one of the first mass market producers of colour cosmetics, women everywhere started to copy the look of their favourite movie star, and felt their own beauty emerge while emulating the magic and glamour of Hollywood through their makeup.
With the current fascination of the public with the appearance of celebrities, we often see candid shots of our favourite movie stars without makeup, and to many women, it’s very comforting! They are just like us - they get blemishes and dark circles! On the other hand, though, some of their magic is lost, and there is no doubt that makeup is a huge part of their captivating aura.
Today, in our world of intense competition and stress in the work-place, there is a very special sense of escapism and delight that many women feel upon entering the cosmetics department of their favourite store. It is very easy to forget your troubles when you’re standing at the Chanel counter looking at the magnificently packaged makeup and stunning array of colours. For many women, trying on makeup and surveying the effect, is as good as therapy, and much cheaper!
This lovely pastime is available to most women and girls, as makeup today is an affordable luxury. Instead of buying expensive clothes, you can get the same thrill from a sparkling new lipstick. Makeup stores are irresistible - the candy stores for grown up women. They are nearly impossible to pass by without yearning to just “take a quick look!” The colours, varieties and packaging are all so enchanting and make us feel rejuvenated with the promise of a new look, which can also signify a fresh start. How many women starting over change their hairstyle? Changing your makeup can have the same effect. If you have never tried red lipstick, for example, but have sumptuous full lips, how amazing are you going to feel when you slick on that perfect shade of red, which makes your smile even more dazzling?
As a professional makeup artist who has worked in the fashion and entertainment industries for twenty years, first in London, and now in Los Angeles, I can attest to the power, magic and importance of makeup. Whether I am working on a famous model, A-list celebrity or a stay-at home mum, the effect of the makeup is always the same. It is like a surge of feel-good energy rushing up from the inside, which results in a radiant smile. You can really feel the boost in confidence. This is why I love my job so much - making people look and feel beautiful is a thrilling experience. It really does make people happy. I definitely leave every makeup session feeling good...
One of the most valuable things that I’ve learned from my work, is that it’s very important to have a sense of your own special and unique beauty...how you feel about your appearance affects how other people respond to you, which in turn affects your place in your world. There is no-one else like you, and you have the power to bring out your beauty if you take the time to discover it!
Whatever your age, it really is worth spending time experimenting with different colours and textures to find your ideal look. A daily makeup routine emphasising your best features, that you can finish in around ten minutes every morning before going out and facing the world, can do wonders for your confidence and self esteem.
Until the next time - unleash your inner and outer beauty with some fabulous new makeup, and I wish you all a beautiful day!
